Peshawar police arrest four in Rs35 million heist
Peshawar police have arrested four people connected to a cash van robbery. The crime took place on Monday when armed robbers targeted a bulletproof van carrying Rs35 million. The money was being transported for a private bank. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Masood Ahmed, the van driver played a significant role in the heist. He had been employed for six months but wasn't properly vetted. It was later found that he had been dismissed from two previous jobs and helped the robbers plan the crime. CCTV footage showed armed men on motorcycles intercepting the bank vehicle and taking the cash at gunpoint. The police also noted serious security lapses during the operation. The driver should not have opened the van's door, revealing flaws in standard operating procedures. SSP Ahmed praised the police for their quick response. They conducted several raids that led to the arrests of the suspects. Investigations are ongoing, and the police are checking the criminal backgrounds of those arrested.
