Peterborough's Lincoln Road upgrade begins April 21

Upgrades to a busy road in Peterborough will begin on April 21. The project will improve Lincoln Road, an important route in the city center. It will cost £3.4 million, with £2.4 million coming from the government’s Towns Fund. The improvements will include new raised pedestrian crossings, cycle stands, seating areas, and charging points for electric vehicles. This project is part of a larger £22.9 million program to make the city more inviting for shoppers and cyclists. Angus Ellis, a council cabinet member, said the investment is "long overdue" and will greatly benefit residents and local businesses. He expressed gratitude for the external funding that makes these upgrades possible. Milestone Infrastructure Limited will carry out the work, which is expected to be completed by spring 2026. The council asks for patience from the community during the construction period.
