PetroWind Energy expands Aklan wind project with new turbines set for 2025 completion

PetroWind Energy Inc. is expanding its Nabas Wind Power Project in Aklan, adding three turbines expected to be completed next year. This will increase the project's capacity from 42.6 megawatts to 49.2 megawatts by 2025. The first three turbines have been operational since April 2024. The project is significant as it is the only new power plant connected to the Panay subgrid since a major outage earlier this year. Local officials support a new transmission project approved by the Energy Regulatory Commission, which aims to enhance grid stability and reduce power interruptions. The project is set to be completed by mid-2025.
