Philadelphia prepares for 125th Mummers Parade with road closures and public transport advice

Philadelphia will host the 125th Mummers Parade on New Year's Day, starting at 9 a.m. The parade features over 10,000 participants in elaborate costumes, performing along a 1.5-mile route from 17th and Market streets to Washington Avenue. Road closures began over the weekend, with 15th Street closed to parking and southbound traffic. Spectators are encouraged to use public transportation, as parking restrictions will be in effect until Wednesday evening. The parade is free to watch, but tickets for bleacher seating and the Fancy Brigade Finale are available for purchase. The Fancy Brigade Finale will have two shows at the Pennsylvania Convention Center on the same day.
