The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will acquire 40 fast patrol crafts from the French government, following approval from President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. The deal is part of a P25.8-billion Official Development Assistance program. This acquisition is the largest single purchase in the PCG's modernization efforts. It aims to enhance maritime security, allowing the PCG to deploy at least two patrol boats in each district. Twenty of the patrol crafts will be assembled in the Philippines. The boats will support law enforcement, search and rescue, and environmental protection, particularly in the West Philippine Sea.
