Philippine House panel to continue investigation into Vice President Duterte's office and education budget

The House of Representatives in the Philippines will continue its investigation into the budgets of the Office of the Vice President and the Department of Education under Sara Duterte. The focus will now expand beyond confidential funds to other public money usage. Rep. Joel Chua, chair of the committee, stated that a summary of the hearings will be prepared, detailing initial findings related to the confidential funds. The committee plans to meet again in January to discuss future steps. Previous hearings revealed that officials from the OVP admitted to releasing millions in confidential funds to security personnel. This inquiry follows separate impeachment complaints filed against Duterte.
