Philippines evacuates thousands as Typhoon Toraji approaches northern region

Thousands of people are being forcibly evacuated from 2,500 villages in northern Philippines as Typhoon Toraji approaches. This region has already suffered from severe flooding and landslides caused by three storms in the past month. Typhoon Toraji, with winds up to 130 kilometers per hour, is expected to move northwest across Luzon. Officials warn that the rain-soaked areas are at high risk for flash floods and landslides. The recent storms have caused over 160 deaths and affected more than 9 million people. The Philippines is receiving aid from Southeast Asian countries and the United States to assist those impacted by the disasters.
