Philippines promotes Bernard Banac to police lieutenant general
The Philippine government has promoted Police Brigadier General Bernard Banac to the rank of police lieutenant general. The promotion was confirmed by the Presidential Communications Office on November 4, with the official letter signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin. Banac previously served as the spokesperson for the Philippine National Police from 2019 to 2020. He has a long history in law enforcement, including significant roles in the Special Action Force and as provincial director in Sorsogon. His career highlights include leading operations against the Abu Sayyaf Group and being recognized as one of the country’s Outstanding Policemen in Service in 2012.
