Philippines reports 922 measles-rubella cases in 2025
The Department of Health (DOH) in the Philippines reported 922 cases of measles-rubella from January 1 to March 1, 2025. This marks a 35% increase from 683 cases during the same period in 2024. Five regions, including the National Capital Region and Western Visayas, experienced rising cases. Of the reported cases, 625, or 68%, involved individuals who were unvaccinated or had incomplete vaccinations. The DOH is continuing its vaccination program for children aged nine to 12 months and will conduct catch-up immunizations for infants this month.
