Philippines to experience stunning celestial events in 2024

In 2024, the Philippines will witness several notable celestial events. Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS) was visible in October, appearing bright and yellow for up to 45 minutes, even in light-polluted areas. On September 5, a small asteroid named 2024 RW1 disintegrated over Luzon after being spotted just 11 hours before impact. The Department of Science and Technology noted that finding fragments is unlikely due to its descent into the ocean. The October Supermoon, known as the Hunter’s Moon, was the third of four supermoons in 2024. It was fully visible in the Philippines on October 17, appearing larger and brighter due to its proximity to Earth.
