Phillipsburg police honor officers for bravery in pursuits
The Phillipsburg Police Department honored three officers for their bravery during two incidents in February. Patrol officer William Lance and Sergeant Christopher Mecca were recognized for apprehending a suspect who fled from a domestic disturbance on February 14. Patrol officer Brandon Hulls also received a commendation for arresting a suspect involved in gunfire on February 24. Hulls identified the suspect and conducted a felony stop, leading to the recovery of a handgun and extended magazine. The officers were celebrated in a ceremony attended by their families. Chief Anthony Goodell emphasized the department's commitment to community engagement and transparency. Council members supported the recognition, highlighting positive police efforts.
