PIA to resume UK flights after Eidul Fitr
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) will resume flights to the UK after Eidul Fitr, following the lifting of a European Union ban. The first flights will operate from London and Manchester, with plans to restore services from Birmingham. The EU ban was imposed in June 2020 after a plane crash and concerns over pilot licensing. PIA's first flight to Paris took off on January 10, 2024, marking the end of a four-and-a-half-year suspension. Additionally, interest in PIA's privatization has increased, with groups like the Arif Habib Group and Taba Group expressing willingness to acquire the airline. Meetings have taken place to discuss potential acquisition terms.
