Pimpri-Chinchwad police have solved six chain-snatching cases and arrested two suspects. The arrests were made on Sunday, and police recovered stolen jewelry worth ₹ 13.57 lakh. The incidents occurred in several areas, including Nigdi, MIDC Bhosari, Ravet, Dehu Road, Hadapsar, and Tofkhana. The arrested suspects are Umesh Peherkar, who sold the stolen jewelry, and Balasaheb Udawant, a jeweler. Authorities are still searching for three other suspects: Anup Chavan, Akshay Tribhuvan, and Somnath Chube. The chain-snatching incident was initially reported on February 20, when two motorcyclists stole gold chains from the victim. During the investigation, police reviewed 350-400 pieces of CCTV footage across a 250 km area. This helped them identify the motorcycle used in the crime. They discovered that this motorcycle was also linked to another case in Vaijapur, located in the Chatrapati Sambhajinagar area. Based on this information, police set a trap and successfully arrested the suspects.
