Pirelli provides three tyre compounds for Shanghai Grand Prix

The 2025 Chinese Grand Prix is set to kick off in Shanghai, marking the first Sprint weekend of the season. Teams and drivers are preparing for three days of racing, and tyre supplier Pirelli has confirmed their tyre compounds. For this event, Pirelli has opted for a harder selection compared to the previous race in Australia. The tyre compounds include the C4 as the soft (red), the C3 as the medium (yellow), and the C2 as the hard (white). During this Sprint format, teams will need to manage their tyre allocations carefully. They will have 12 sets for the entire weekend, instead of the usual 13. Drivers will receive two sets of hard, four sets of medium, and six sets of soft tyres. They will also have six sets of green intermediates and three sets of blue full wet tyres. Pirelli noted that weather conditions could play an important role. This is the first time the Shanghai Grand Prix is held in March, with average temperatures typically below 18°C. Teams will need to adapt their strategies accordingly.
