Pixel phones to gain customizable icon shapes soon

androidcentral.com

Google's upcoming Android 16 update will reintroduce icon shape customization for Pixel phones. This feature, which was removed after Android 12, allows users to choose from six icon styles directly in the Pixel Launcher. The new "App Shape & Layout" menu enables adjustments to home screen grid size and icon shapes, including square and arch. Previously, Pixel users relied on third-party launchers for such customization. This update marks a significant change, as Pixel Launcher has not evolved much in recent years. The feature is currently in beta, with an official rollout expected around May or June.
