Players choose between justice or mercy in Assassin's Creed

In "Assassin's Creed Shadows," players face a crucial decision involving two characters, Mitsumune and Yaya, during the Heads Will Roll quest. This choice revolves around the theme of justice versus mercy. Mitsumune believes that after an assassination, the remaining members of Wada Koretake's group must be executed to serve justice. On the other hand, Yaya, a peaceful monk, argues that killing them is not truly just. She prefers to show mercy, highlighting a difference in their philosophies. When players choose to support Yaya by saying, "Killing them isn’t justice," it will lead to Naoe siding with her. This option is important for those who want Yaya as an ally in the game. Mitsumune, however, becomes angry regardless of the choice, and the executions proceed anyway. If players side with Mitsumune by saying, "Justice must be served," his men will carry out the executions. Yaya expresses her disappointment and believes everyone is "beyond saving." However, despite the choice made, players can still unlock a quest for Yaya called "The Stray Dogs," where they have the chance to recruit her. Yaya is not a romantic option in the game, but she is a valuable ally in battles. Players can enhance her skills at the Dojo in the game’s hideout, making her a formidable partner in combat.
