Players demand nerfs to Zarya in Overwatch 2
Overwatch 2 players are upset about the latest changes made in the mid-season 15 patch. They feel that one tank, Zarya, is too powerful and hurting the game. Players believe that the new Hero Perks patch, meant to improve gameplay, did not balance the strongest characters properly. Many players have voiced their frustration with the patch. They feel Blizzard focused on buffing weaker perks instead of lowering the power of dominant characters. Zarya’s skills allow her to deal high damage and move quickly, making her very hard to beat, especially in solo matches. Players claim Zarya can often take out entire enemy teams on her own. This is particularly noticeable in solo queue matches, where team coordination is lacking. One player pointed out that many teams avoid attacking Zarya, which lets her roam freely. Along with Zarya, players also criticized other heroes like Ana and Sojourn, saying they are unfairly strong. Some players believe there is favoritism in how Blizzard supports certain heroes. They express concern that the game is not balancing these characters well enough. While mid-season patches usually make fewer changes, Blizzard plans to rotate the perks regularly. This means that strong heroes may be toned down over time. A new character, Freja, will be available for testing from March 21 to March 24, which might change the game’s balance further when she is officially released in Season 16.
