Players search Osaka for hidden origami butterflies

In the game Assassin's Creed Shadows, players are tasked with finding ten origami butterflies as part of The Butterfly Collector quest. These butterflies are hidden around Osaka. This quest involves uncovering important messages related to a smuggling ring and leads to an assassination mission to rescue kidnapped children. To start the quest, players should talk to a woman near the ornament vendor in Katano, Izumi Settsu. She presents the butterfly hunt as a children’s game. Players often discover it after helping a civilian in need. The butterflies are mostly found on the trunks of trees rather than in the branches, which may be confusing. Being in the winter season can make them harder to see, so switching to a different season is recommended. Players can use "observe mode" to get hints when close to a butterfly. The first butterfly is located east of town, hidden behind reeds along the river. The second is north of the Temple of Osaka. The following butterflies are found in various locations around Osaka, including near shrines, gardens, and riversides. After finding all ten butterflies, players return to the gamemaker in Katano. Completing this part of the quest leads to the assassination missions where players can investigate a kidnapping case. Rewards for completing the mission include experience points and skill upgrades.
