Plies drops lawsuit against Megan Thee Stallion and others

Plies has dropped his copyright lawsuit against Megan Thee Stallion, GloRilla, Cardi B, and Soulja Boy over the song "Wanna Be." He accused them of using a sample from his song "Me and My Goons" without permission. The lawsuit was filed in November 2024, claiming Soulja Boy used the sample in his song "Pretty Boy Swag." Plies did not sue Soulja Boy at that time but later sought legal action against the other artists. Plies voluntarily dismissed the lawsuit "without prejudice," meaning he can refile it later. It is unclear if a settlement was reached with the other artists.
