PM announces power supply and education fund for Gilgit-Baltistan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a 100 megawatt power supply and a Rs1 billion endowment fund for university students in Gilgit-Baltistan. This funding aims to support education at Baltistan University and Karakorum University.

During his visit, the Prime Minister praised the completion of the Bubar Model Village, which provides housing for flood-affected residents. He also called for the establishment of educational institutions and facilities in the Ghizer district.

The federal government plans to promote tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan, with interest from the Qatari government in investing in the region. Sharif emphasized the importance of cooperation between provincial and federal governments for economic stability.
