PM Shehbaz introduces digital Ramadan package across Pakistan
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that the Ramadan Relief Package for 2025 is being distributed through a digital wallet system. This system aims to ensure efficiency and transparency in providing support to beneficiaries across Pakistan. During a meeting to discuss the package, the prime minister emphasized that it should set a standard for other government programs. He highlighted that the initiative is available to everyone equally, even in remote regions like Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir. The Prime Minister praised the State Bank of Pakistan, NADRA, and technology firms for their roles in ensuring the package's transparency. He also called for a third-party audit to assess the program's effectiveness. As of now, 63% of the beneficiaries have received their payments, and comprehensive records are available regarding the distribution. Over 1.5 million beneficiaries have been contacted to provide updates on the relief package. Key government officials and representatives from private companies related to the package attended the meeting to discuss its progress and future improvements.
