Poe disputes Marcos' claim of budget snub for Vice President's office in 2025
Sen. Grace Poe has countered Sen. Imee Marcos' claim that the Senate finance committee ignored their request to increase the Office of the Vice President's budget for 2025. Poe stated that the national budget was approved after careful consideration. Marcos had expressed disappointment, claiming that 11 senators supported a budget increase for Vice President Sara Duterte's office. However, Poe clarified that all but one senator voted in favor of the budget, which allocates P733 million to the OVP. Poe emphasized that the OVP must justify any need for additional funds beyond the approved amount. The OVP's initial budget request was P2.037 billion, but it was cut by over P1 billion by the House of Representatives.
