Police arrest five BJP workers in Chennai protest attempt

Police in Chennai stopped five members of the BJP from holding a protest near the state Secretariat on Thursday. The arrests were part of an ongoing effort to prevent demonstrations. For the past week, police have been checking buses and cars for protesters carrying signs or digital banners. On Thursday, they spotted the five men in a car with party flags and placards. The arrested individuals, identified as Naveen Kumar, Kiran Kumar, Naveen, Udayakumar, and Karthik, were all from Tiruvallur. They told officers they intended to protest against the state government. The Fort police took them into custody and they will remain in jail until April 2.
