Police identify three handlers sharing Atiq's old videos
Cyber investigators have tracked three individuals responsible for sharing old videos of Atiq Ahmed, a former mafia boss turned politician, on social media. The additional deputy commissioner of police, Abhijeet Kumar, announced that the IP addresses of these handlers have been identified, and action will be taken against them. A team of cyber experts is now focused on stopping those spreading the old footage. Kumar noted that understanding the reasons behind the circulation of these videos will be clearer once the individuals are caught. The trend of sharing these clips started gaining traction about two weeks ago. Authorities are working to uncover the identities of the people involved and their motives. Police are closely monitoring social media accounts related to Atiq Ahmed and have already flagged accounts using his name. These accounts have shared videos of Ahmed, his family, and members of his gang, including clips from court appearances. Atiq Ahmed and his brother, Khalid Azeem, were killed by assailants on April 15, 2023. The investigation continues as police gather more information on the situation.
