Police intensify crackdown on PTI activists in Punjab following protests
Law enforcement in Pakistan has intensified its crackdown on Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) activists following protests demanding the release of Imran Khan. Numerous party leaders and supporters have been arrested across Punjab, facing various charges including vandalism and incitement. In Bahawalnagar, 95 PTI workers were booked for blocking roads and attacking police vehicles. Despite heightened security, many activists continue to attempt to reach Islamabad for further protests. Police are preparing for additional operations to prevent mobilization. In Okara, several PTI leaders were arrested while heading to Islamabad, but many secured bail shortly after. Reports indicate that PTI activists are determined to continue their protests, despite facing arrests and legal challenges across multiple districts.
