Police investigate mysterious deaths of Bikaner family
Police in Bikaner are investigating the deaths of a family of three, discovered in their home on Wednesday night. The deceased are Nitin Khatri, 50, his wife Rajni, and their daughter Jessica, 18. Their bodies were found in a state of advanced decomposition, suggesting they may have died 10 to 15 days earlier. Nitin was found hanging in his room, while Rajni and Jessica were lying on the floor nearby. Neighbors had not reported any unusual activity or silence from the family, even though they lived in the area for many years. Remarkably, no relatives alerted police, despite Nitin's cousins residing in the same city. The police entered the home on Friday after the strong smell prompted neighbors to report their concerns. The family lived an isolated life, and their absence went unnoticed during the Holi festival, a time when families often connect. Authorities are exploring whether Nitin killed his wife and daughter before taking his own life or if all three died by suicide. A hammer was found at the scene, but there were no visible injuries on the bodies. This has complicated the investigation. Additionally, police discovered a packet of milk dated February 27, raising suspicions about when the family may have died. The house was untidy, and statements from relatives have not clarified the situation. The police are now awaiting autopsy results for more information.
