The officer responded to a call for assistance in Barangay Datag. Both the mother and baby were safely transported to a hospital with help from local disaster management teams. The Philippine National Police reported that their personnel are actively involved in clearing operations in areas affected by the typhoon. Super Typhoon Pepito, with maximum winds of 155 km/h, is currently moving over the coastal waters of La Union. It is expected to leave the Philippine area of responsibility by Monday.
