Police seize equipment from eight illegal paragliders in Goa

Police in Goa took action against eight tourists from Mumbai on Saturday for illegally paragliding at Keri. The Tiracol coastal police seized the equipment during their checks. The tourists did not have the required permits to paraglide, as all such activities have been suspended in Goa since January. This suspension followed a tragic incident where two people died in a paragliding accident in the same area. An investigation is underway, and police plan to refer the case to the tourism department. They will recommend that the tourists face a fine for the illegal activity. The earlier accident resulted in the deaths of a woman tourist and a paraglider operator, prompting stricter regulations regarding paragliding in Goa.
