Police are calling for improved safety measures at the Bowenpally Vegetable Market. The North Zone Police met with members of the market on Monday to discuss security concerns. During the meeting, they highlighted several key issues. Access control was a major focus. Police recommended that all workers and vehicles should have passes to monitor who enters and exits the market. Another significant concern was the poor state of CCTV surveillance. Out of 35 cameras installed, only 16 were working. Police urged market officials to increase the number of cameras and improve lighting in dark areas to deter crime. Traders were also encouraged to set up their own cameras and keep footage for investigation purposes. The meeting also addressed issues of drug abuse and open alcohol consumption within the market. Police discussed the need for strict measures to ensure a safe environment for traders, farmers, and customers. Cybercrime was another topic of discussion. Police warned market stakeholders to be aware of online threats and work with law enforcement to prevent fraud. North Zone Deputy Commissioner of Police Rashmi Perumal stressed the importance of safety at the market, which is vital for Telangana's agricultural trade. The meeting included various officials, including the market's leadership, police representatives, and about 200 attendees.
