Pompano Beach mourns Colleen and Connor Sheridan's deaths
Colleen Sheridan, 72, and her son Connor, 31, were killed in a double murder-suicide in Pompano Beach earlier this week. James Sheridan, Colleen's husband, is believed to have shot them both before taking his own life. Emergency responders found the bodies on Wednesday during a welfare check at their home. The Broward Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies discovered the victims after receiving a call when Colleen did not show up for work. Colleen was active in her church as treasurer and volunteered at a local thrift store. Connor was working in real estate, allowing him to care for his mother, who had ongoing health issues. The church has started collecting donations for their funerals. Friends remember Colleen as a caring person who devoted her life to helping others. Craig Caffro, a close friend of Colleen, described her as someone who loved everyone and made a significant impact in the community. He expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss. Authorities noted that there were no previous signs of trouble in the home. Colleen and Connor's friend, Kathy Keleher, shared that she had been in touch with them days before the incident and that they had plans to celebrate Connor's birthday. She described Colleen as an "angel on earth" who always looked out for her friends and family.
