A man from Oakland County who went missing 31 years ago has finally been identified. The remains found in Canton, Ohio, in 2001 belong to Anthony Gulley from Pontiac. He was reported missing in 1994 at the age of 24. Authorities have ruled his death a homicide. At the time of Gulley's disappearance, police were investigating George Frederick Washington, a 22-year-old suspect in two rapes and an armed robbery. They believe Washington shot and killed Gulley in Michigan before traveling to Ohio to dispose of the body. Washington later died in a shootout with police. Seven years after Gulley vanished, skeletal remains were discovered in Canton. It took over two decades and extensive DNA testing to identify the remains as Gulley's. The lab work lasted nine months. Police found no evidence that Gulley was involved in any criminal activity before his death.
