Portland will face persistent rain from afternoon onwards
Portland will have a mostly dry Wednesday morning, but rain is expected to move in by the afternoon. The National Weather Service has warned that this rain will continue, with few breaks, until about Saturday. Temperatures will reach around 54 degrees. Winds will be breezy, with gusts hitting up to 45 mph along the coast and 30-40 mph in inland valleys. A stray shower could occur early in the day, but the significant rain will start in the afternoon and pick up in the evening. Thursday is forecasted to be very wet, with a 100% chance of rain. Up to a quarter-inch of rain may fall, especially in the afternoon. Snow levels in the mountains will rise to around 4,000-5,000 feet before decreasing again on Friday as another weather system arrives. The Cascades could see significant snowfall, gaining 2-4 feet of snow above 4,000 feet. Portland will remain rainy on Friday with a high of about 53 degrees. Rainfall will lessen on Saturday, and temperatures will reach around 55. On Sunday, skies will be mostly cloudy with some showers. Temperatures may warm up to about 59 degrees. Next week, the forecast suggests a few dry days, with temperatures possibly reaching the lower 70s by Tuesday in the Willamette Valley.
