Possible snow next week in Massachusetts after spring

Spring officially started on Thursday, March 20, 2025. However, snow may still fall in Massachusetts next week. Meteorologist Candice Hrencecin from the National Weather Service says there is a chance of light snow, especially in higher areas, on Monday morning. In particular, the Berkshires might see some brief snow between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. Cape Cod may also experience a small chance of snow around 8 a.m. Hrencecin noted that it's not unusual for snow to occur after the first day of spring. The expected snow is not likely to stick around, as it will probably change to rain by late morning. The forecast indicates that any snow in Cape Cod will likely be washed away by rain as well. Looking ahead, Hrencecin mentions that while they cannot predict further snow after Monday, the Climate Prediction Center's outlook suggests warmer than usual temperatures for the next few weeks. Typically, Massachusetts can see snow even after spring begins.
