Powerful drone sequence in "Adolescence" almost cut

The Netflix drama "Adolescence" is known for its intense storytelling and strong performances. One of its standout moments comes at the end of episode two. This scene shows Stephen Graham's character laying flowers in memory of a girl his son is accused of killing. It was filmed in a unique way, using a drone. Director Philip Barantini recently shared that this powerful ending almost didn't make it into the show. Initially, the plan was for the drone to fly away from the murder site without showing Graham's character again. However, a suggestion from a Netflix executive changed that. Filming had already begun when this new idea was discussed. Barantini also mentioned that weather challenges almost stopped the scene from happening. Strong winds made it impossible to fly the drone on one day. The team came up with an alternative plan, but it wasn't as impactful. The next day, the wind calmed down, and they decided to try flying the drone again. During the final attempt, there were moments of uncertainty about whether they had captured the shot. In addition to this moment, "Adolescence" includes other significant scenes, some using visual effects. However, the dramatic moment with the teenager jumping from a window was different from the drone footage. All four episodes of "Adolescence" can currently be streamed on Netflix.
