A young innovator from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, has introduced an electric supercar called ‘Thunder’. Abhishek Vairagya designed this car to be affordable compared to other supercars on the market. The current model of Thunder can reach speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour and was built for Rs 16 lakh. The final version is expected to go much faster, with a top speed of 250 kilometers per hour and a price of about Rs 50 lakh. The project gained attention at a recent startup summit organized by the Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology's Innovation and Incubation Hub. Many industry experts and car manufacturers showed interest and asked about the car's technical details. Abhishek revealed that the battery of the car will offer a range of 200 kilometers when fully charged. Abhishek focused on his dream of building a supercar after leaving his BTech studies. He dropped out of a program in Delhi after a year and returned home to pursue his automotive passion with the help of his brother, Akhilesh. Over four years, he created the prototype using second-hand materials, which kept costs low. He mentioned that his goal is to create a supercar that is affordable for the middle class. Currently, no Indian company produces supercars, while countries like the US, Russia, and Germany dominate this market with high-priced vehicles. If successful, Abhishek's Thunder could give more people a chance to own a supercar.
