Tim “Herb” Alexander, the drummer for Primus, has left the band after 25 years, citing a loss of passion for playing. He announced his departure via email on October 17, which surprised the band. In an interview, Alexander explained that music began to feel more like a job, affecting his physical and mental well-being. He originally joined Primus in 1989, left in 1996, and had multiple returns before his latest departure. Primus acknowledged the suddenness of his exit and expressed disappointment but respected his decision. The band plans to find a new drummer while Alexander intends to focus on his online drum school, Stick Academy.
