Primus drummer Tim Alexander has left the band, stating that his "heart just wasn't in it." He expressed that his decision was influenced by negative impacts on his physical and mental health, as well as his family life. The band announced his departure on October 29, following an email from Alexander on October 17. Remaining members Les Claypool and Larry LaLonde acknowledged the shock of his decision and are adjusting their plans for upcoming performances. In light of Alexander's exit, Primus will perform with members of Holy Mackerel and Frog Brigade for their New Year’s show. For their festival appearance with Tool in March 2024, former touring drummer Danny Carey will fill in.
