Prince Edward visits Derwen College in Shropshire

The college specializes in helping young adults with special educational needs and disabilities. During his visit, Edward met Brendan Langan-Hart, who has achieved a gold award at the college. Brendan displayed the college's canoe simulator and expressed happiness about meeting the Duke, calling it “an absolute privilege.” Learning support assistant Andrew Hamilton highlighted the importance of the visit. He noted it recognized the hard work of the staff supporting the students. Another attendee shared their excitement about meeting Prince Edward. The Principal and CEO of Derwen College, Meryl Green, expressed pride in hosting the Duke. She emphasized the honor of showcasing their efforts to prepare young people for adult life. The college also highlighted its accessible Duke of Edinburgh’s Award outdoor center.
