Prince Harry reveals drug use for social acceptance
Prince Harry has opened up about using drugs to cope with his depression. In his memoir "Spare," he explains how he turned to substances in his teenage years to find a sense of purpose. Harry recalls a specific incident at a friend's country house where he tried drugs for the first time. He described how it didn't bring him happiness but made him feel different, which was his main goal at the time. He was a troubled 17-year-old looking for a way to change his unhappy state. In a conversation with Dr. Gabor Maté, Harry said he realized that the drugs did not really help him. He acknowledged that using drugs was more about fitting in socially than actually feeling better. Since stepping back from royal duties in 2020, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle have spoken out about their experiences, including allegations of racism within the Royal Family. The couple now lives in California with their two children, Archie and Lilibet.
