Prince William recalls childhood bond with Prince Harry

Prince William visited British troops at the Tapa Army Base in Estonia on March 21. He wore camouflage fatigues and interacted with soldiers, even riding in a Challenger 2 tank. This visit reminded many of a childhood moment in 1989 when young William and his brother Harry sat on a tank in military uniforms. Both princes have a strong connection to the armed forces. William served as a Search and Rescue and Air Ambulance pilot until 2017, when he shifted focus to royal duties. Harry also pursued a military career but stepped down as a working royal in 2020 and moved to California with his wife, Meghan Markle. While they once shared a close bond, their relationship is now strained. This rift became more public after Harry's interviews and his memoir, "Spare," where he discussed tensions with William.
