Prince William supports Canada by wearing Canadian brand
Prince William was seen wearing a green puffer jacket from the Canadian brand Lululemon while on a visit to Estonia. This choice is seen as a subtle sign of support for Canada amid rising tensions with the United States. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said Canada will negotiate with President Donald Trump regarding his proposed tariffs once respect for Canada's sovereignty is shown. Trump's suggested tariffs have raised concerns of a potential trade war between the two countries. He has also hinted that Canada could become the 51st state of the U.S., risking a diplomatic crisis with Canada. Earlier this month, King Charles also showed support for Canada by hosting Canadian officials at Buckingham Palace. During a private meeting, he presented a new ceremonial sword, symbolizing the connection between the two nations. In February, the King celebrated Canada's flag day by expressing pride in Canada’s symbol, the maple leaf. Prince William's visit to Estonia is part of his role as colonel-in-chief of the Mercian Regiment, which is taking over NATO duties there. He met with Estonia’s president, Alar Karis, who supports Ukraine amid its ongoing conflict. The prince will also attend a handover ceremony at a local army base where British troops are stationed. Throughout his visit, William aims to learn about renewable energy startups to further his Earthshot Prize initiative, which focuses on environmental solutions.
