Prithviraj Sukumaran resumes filming L2: Empuraan in Ladakh
Prithviraj Sukumaran has resumed shooting for his film "L2: Empuraan" after recovering from complex ACL and meniscus surgery. He describes this experience as monumental due to the challenges he faced during his recovery and the intense action sequences he performed. In an interview, Sukumaran explained that the surgery followed a serious injury he sustained while filming last year. He said the procedure was tough but necessary. He emphasized that while the surgery itself is straightforward, the recovery, especially mentally, is much harder. He started shooting just three months after the surgery, despite knowing recovery can take a year. Shooting in high-altitude locations added another layer of difficulty. Sukumaran had to adapt to filming in Ladakh, where the low oxygen levels were challenging. Despite these hurdles, he found the experience helpful for his rehabilitation. It allowed him to focus on his recovery while staying engaged in the filmmaking process. He also spoke about his character, Zayed, saying it has a rich backstory that connects deeply with the film's narrative. Sukumaran highlighted the importance of mental strength during recovery, noting that directing the film helped maintain his positive outlook.
