Pro-Palestine protesters interrupted the Oculus in New York
On March 19, pro-Palestine demonstrators entered the Oculus at the World Trade Center in New York City. They managed to push past police officers to get inside the building. Footage shows the protesters waving Palestinian flags and chanting slogans. Some of the chants included “While you’re shopping bombs are dropping” and “NYPD, KKK, IOF they’re all the same.” The demonstration was part of a larger protest that took place the day before. This earlier protest involved calls for the release of Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian activist detained by ICE officers on March 8. The police eventually escorted the demonstrators out of the Oculus.
