Pro-Palestine protests at Trump Tower lead to arrests

On Thursday, about 150 pro-Palestine protesters occupied Trump Tower on New York City's 5th Avenue, demanding the release of Mahmoud Khalil, a former Columbia student facing deportation. The demonstration ended with around 100 arrests for trespassing and resisting arrest. Protesters chanted slogans and displayed banners as police set up barricades and monitored the situation from above. The protest was sparked by Khalil's arrest and the Trump administration's stance on anti-Semitism and campus protests. By early afternoon, the protest concluded, and the area returned to its usual state, with no reported injuries or property damage. Trump Tower remained intact, and normal activity resumed shortly after the protesters were removed.
