Project highlights diverse realities of motherhood globally
Karni Arieli, 50, founded the Eye Mama Project in 2020 to showcase authentic motherhood through photography. The project has collected around 70,000 images from women in over 60 countries, aiming to represent the true essence of motherhood. Arieli is now fundraising £35,000 to sustain and archive the collection. She emphasizes the project's role in highlighting the complexities of motherhood, including experiences like IVF, miscarriages, and adoption. The initiative seeks to validate women's experiences and combat feelings of isolation. Arieli hopes to create a lasting archive that reflects the diverse realities of motherhood for future generations.
