Prosecutors reveal alleged victims' names to Diddy's defense
Prosecutors have shared the names of three alleged victims in Diddy's federal case, but only with his defense team for now. This decision comes after Diddy requested the names on March 6. He is facing charges linked to federal organized crime laws. A judge reviewed Diddy's request and ordered the names to be given to his attorneys by March 10. Diddy’s defense team argued that they need time to prepare for the upcoming trial, which is set for less than two months from now. The indictment refers to the victims as Victims 1, 2, and 3, without revealing their identities publicly. The judge's order specifies that the victims' identities will only be shared under an "Attorney's Eyes Only" designation. Diddy's attorneys have already mentioned one of the victims, Victim 1, as being Cassie Ventura, his former girlfriend. This is linked to a 2016 video showing Diddy in a violent confrontation with her. The defense believes that the other two alleged victims are also past girlfriends of Diddy and insists that their interactions were consensual. Due to a gag order in the case, the names of the victims may not be made public until the trial starts, and the judge may decide to close the courtroom when they testify.
