ProSieben buys stakes in dating and digital firms
Germany's ProSiebenSat.1 Media has finalized a deal to buy minority stakes from U.S. private investor General Atlantic. This includes stakes in the dating platform ParshipMeet and the digital firm NuCom Group, but not in the perfume retailer Flaconi. ProSieben will pay €10 million in cash and nearly six million treasury shares valued at €38 million. The agreement includes a fixed exit deal worth €50 million for ParshipMeet when ProSieben sells it, along with the e-commerce platform Verivox. General Atlantic will gain 2.5% ownership in ProSieben. In other news, the documentary "Miyazaki, Spirit of Nature" has secured distribution deals with three theatrical buyers. Studio DHL in Korea and Paradiso in the Benelux region confirmed their purchases, while a buyer in Italy remains unnamed. The documentary has also been sold to TV networks across Europe, including SVT in Sweden and DR in Denmark. Emmanuel Eckert is leaving Mediawan Rights, where he was Deputy Acquisitions Director, to start his own company. Eckert plans to focus on international consulting, co-productions, and distribution.
