Protein Industries Canada invites projects to blend pulses and cereals for new food products

globenewswire.com

Protein Industries Canada has launched a new call for projects focused on blending pulses and cereals to develop high-protein, plant-based ingredients. This initiative marks the first time the organization has specifically included cereal-based projects, expanding its previous focus on crops like peas and fava. The organization plans to invest $10 million in these projects, which must involve at least two collaborators, with one being a small or medium-sized enterprise. This is a change from the previous requirement of three collaborators. Expressions of interest can be submitted until January 16, 2025. Projects may receive up to 45% reimbursement of eligible costs. Protein Industries Canada aims to enhance collaboration in the ingredient manufacturing and food processing sectors.
