Protesters arrested at Trump Tower for Khalil's release
Ninety-eight protesters were arrested during a sit-in at Trump Tower, demanding the release of Mahmoud Khalil, a pro-Palestinian activist detained by immigration authorities. The protesters faced charges of trespass and resisting arrest. The demonstration involved hundreds of participants, including Jewish activists, who wore "Not in Our Name" shirts and carried banners supporting Khalil. Police were called to the scene after security deemed it necessary. Khalil, who has not been charged with a crime, is currently held in Louisiana. His wife, who is pregnant, expressed concern over his detention. The Council on American-Islamic Relations plans to file a lawsuit regarding Khalil's case.
