Protesters in Anakapalli oppose Bulk Drug Park plans

Protests took place in Anakapalli district on Monday against government actions regarding land for a Bulk Drug Park. Landowners from DL Puram, who are part of a poor community, voiced their concerns at the local Tahsildar's office. These residents hold 64 acres of land, which they say the government is developing without proper compensation. A court case on this matter is currently pending in the State High Court. According to M. Appalaraju from the CPI(M), officials are ignoring legal procedures and violating the Land Acquisition Act of 2013. The protesters oppose the establishment of bulk drug companies, citing potential pollution issues. They are demanding the government withdraw its plans to set up these industries and halt the acquisition of more land for this purpose. A formal complaint was submitted to Tahsildar Narasimha Murthy during the protest.
